AI DATA CENTERS: DO THE MATH, THE GRID IS INADEQUATE TO THE DEMAND

And then there is the wee problem of espionage (commercial and military) where another large, at least economic rival, buys the datacentre infrastructure on which your Government business is conducted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvBl0kA77Vc

Initially when I read dr. Farrell post, I thought maybe these future power grid outages are the way to force Breakaways to release their tech advancement to overt side of economy. ( that was uncorrectable optimist in me), then like a flash I was reminded of DARPA project called POWER, and my heart sunk immediately. They will use power grid outages to conform population to mark of the beast since only ones with that mark will be able to get any power at all.

I want to say how much I appreciate vidchats, Dr. Farrell. I rarely ask questions and don’t have the kind of education of many members, but I nevertheless depend heavily on what you teach. I don’t know why there are fewer attendees, but it seems to me that right now the center in many contexts is having trouble to hold.

I don’t know why others don’t attend, but in my case, I do not have the technical capability - I don’t have a lot of the equipment necessary, and that’s okay with me. And I can’t afford all the maintenance for all that, and I can’t work from home to claim it all as a business exp, etc etc. I want to own less stuff anyway.

Hey Mohgarr, I'm very glad to see this discussion on the Smart Meters. Most everyone I know thinks I'm a screwy eccentric with a Chicken-Little mentality, on yet another rant on another of my extreme pet peeves. From their point of view, I'd say that's a fair assessment. But since there are kindred spirits here thought I'd share my experience with a group of like minded folks.
Here's my two cents: For several years I'd dealt with a series of medical issues I could find no help for from my doctors. In my searching for answers to my health concerns I found my way to books by Elana Freeland and Arthur Firstenberg who brought to my attention the history of electricity and the growth of "current technology" which has intensified the invisible frequency bombardment we face. I was quite relieved to realize it wasn't just my imagination. So, I bought 2 electric frequency detectors. (The company which made one of the meters had videos online that identified the source of the frequency sound patterns. I found this very helpful as the frequency information got confusing.)
Around this same time, the only other person I know who changed out her meter told me she did so for medical reasons too. Until I read all this history and heard her story the whole idea of Electromagnetic Sensitivity had just felt like the latest conspiracy theory de' jour overworking my fertile imagination. I knew nothing specifically about meters. I knew I had a meter, but I didn't realize it did anything other than measure the amount of electricity entering my condo. I live in a condo, there are 8 units in my building and all the meters and electrical boxes are clustered together on the back wall of the building. I walked back there and found bigger, newer, stealthier Smart meters where the old ones had been. I never received notice from the power company of the change, much less was I offered a choice to participate or not. Very easy access for the electric company to quietly back there, when most people were at work, and like me, never even notice the switch.
The Smart Meter measurements really woke me up. The spiking was almost continuous, and periodically would show measurements for much longer, more lengthy time spans spiking even higher that constantly stayed in the highest red range. The replacement analog meter readings also spiked really high, but with many fewer of the long intense periods of spikes in the constant red zone. Not as much improvement as I wanted, but some improvement was preferable to no change. Nevertheless, it was horrific realizing I am not safe in my own home!!!
Thanks to the EMF detectors I discovered my upstairs neighbor, who had started working at home during the world wide assault on humanity, has continued working at home in his super high-tech home office, complete with deck-phone, wi-fi router, computer/fax and cell phones. All these frequencies were beaming down into my space. My next door neighbors also had similar equipment plus a microwave oven, and were also blasting through my walls. (cinder block and drywall). I couldn't do much about my neighbors equipment and appliances, but I did purchase an EMF shielding canopy to put over and around my bed, to at least protect myself while I slept. (They do work! When the curtains are down and are closed all around the bed the detectors show very low to no blips at all. I ordered the canopy from a company in Canada in 2021 and paid about $2000 for it. Made the frame myself from PVC.) The detectors I have do not detect 5G , but now there are new ones out now that can. I expect the price will begin to come down soon, but for now I can't afford them. As yet I haven't seen too much out there about how to shield against 5G.
When I called the electric company to take out the Smart Meter I was prepared for some level of pushback but they didn't make a fuss, just informed me it would cost an extra $13 per month/$150 per year for someone to come out to read the meter. (I've actually seen them a couple of times, clip board in hand.) Haven't heard any rumblings about these analogs meters aging out but it seems likely that will happen sooner or later.
What I didn't know was the bit you said about the rates being different depending on the meter. I'm going to ask to see my neighbor's bill to do some comparison. Suppose there's no way to fight that even if I can prove it.
Part of the problem is that Miami is now a SMART CITY. Last year they started planting 5G towers all over the place, some towers less that 20 feet from bedroom windows. When alarmed citizens complained to the power company, and Dade County, they were told the contract for installation had been given to "outside companies"(nobody ever named these outside companies) who were given cart blanche by the State to put them wherever they pleased, no public input allowed. I helped collected petitions against putting these towers in people's back yards or near schools. We weren't saying no towers, just no towers so close to homes and schools. A short lived community group organized the petition drive, and they got a TV station to come out, but nothing came of or efforts. Too little too late I suspect. County commissioners, normally always proud to tout their support of "modern advances" mysteriously are silent when confronted by this fringe of articulate opposition. I can't believe they are clueless when making their excuses, but jaded as I am, fairly confidant they've been paid off to do nothing. To be effective 5G towers have to be within 500 feet of each other and the service area, so they are everywhere. The SMART CITIES is another one of those state supported hi-tech control grabs that leave residents out of the planning, and without options and in ignorance of the consequences of such "improvements", while the SMART industries, who don't live here, soak up state revenues and resources diverted from Florida Citizens.

But, rant aside, I can report my efforts to shield myself, as limited as it was, has improved my health greatly, to my doctor’s utter amazement. It wasn’t overnight of course, 3 or 4 months, but I don’t think she believed me until she reexamined me. Even then, she had a hard time wrapping her head around the possibility of “electrical frequencies” really being a contributary factor, much less responsible for any physical complaint. She suspected what ever it was I’d been suffering with had just ran it’s course. Her opinion really didn’t make much difference. I had taken a chance, stepped away from expecting medical support, and to my surprise, succeeded in finding solutions for most of my issues without her input or assistance. I’m grateful for that.
My apologies kind reader, I’m no writer, and I see this is very long, rambling and probably as exhausting to read as much as it was trying to retelling it. I’m just so weary of all the survival tactics necessary for a modicum of peace of mind. I so strongly and deeply resent of this technological encroachment foisted on to my life, my body, my house, family and friends (even if they don’t see any of this). I realized this is what war must feel like, being on constant alert for new threats/ attacks, under attack, the siege becoming more pronounced, the weariness of constant vigilance. But, until there is some break, some let up in the assault, I’ll keep on doing what I’ve been doing, which is to resist. I did not succumb to the worldwide enforced medical emergency, and I’ll continue to do all I can afford to side step the grid being erected around and through us. I refuse participation in the chip grid coming soon for effective hybridized human management everywhere.
I think many of you probably get it, I just have a hard time paring things down to bullet points. It’s one woman’s report from the front!
Sweet dreams!

Hi Ninna/Linda,

Thanks for taking the time and the long reply. I’m a bit of a techno-klutz myself, but was able to copy/paste to Word and read the first part without needing to scroll. Think the issue was that it might have been composed on Notepad but I didn’t give too much effort to figuring it out…Don’t feel too lonely anyway…my PC is so old and tired that it requires several re-boots per day. Even otherwise simple tasks such as answering emails can be difficult as switching screens can sometimes cause it to crash. A younger, less jaded version of me would not have let it get this far, but I’ve become more-and-more disgusted with the care and feeding of technology. I’ll get to it when I get to it…

In any case, I’ll try and take the time add some links/info as soon as possible, but from memory of the first read-through here are a few comments:

To my knowledge they have yet to implement the “peak hour” charging, at least in my area. It’s a foregone conclusion that they WILL be doing so though, based on related corporate history alone. They always begin with the “benign” metering changes/additions, and quietly announce the new service policy after everyone has forgotten what they (didn’t) agree to at the time.

I’ve heard many stories of people complaining of EMF sickness that lived in apartment buildings/condos etc. One story of a particular apartment from years ago that was directly in the path of a cell tower/hub at the top floor was quite disturbing. Several tenants were exposed to the radiation consecutively and were allegedly either killed, developed devastating cancer from being exposed to it.
In the case of the Smart Meter radiation its not of the same power level, but it IS continuous and will not allow the cells to sleep/repair normally as they are perpetually under attack. The bad news if you’re in an apartment or condo is that, while you may be able to reduce the effect in direct proximity (depending on where the group of meters is located, and if someone is using the wifi equipment directly above you as in your example) all the remaining non-analog meters from the surrounding apartments will still be there pulsing away. You might have to try to get the community more involved and hopefully make some changes. Try getting a portable AM radio and bringing it near to the meters. You’ll hear the pulse. Show them.

Anecdotally, in my case…it was only happenstance that allowed me to be successful in getting my meter installed. Only one employee was on my side at all, and he later admitted that the deciding factor in him going to the trouble was when he realized that I didn’t carry a cell phone. For him to contact me, he had to go through my son. His thinking was that if one has a cell phone than they’re already getting exposed to constant radiation anyway, and the likelihood (in his mind) was that those people were jumping on the analog meter bandwagon only to keep up with the conspiratorial Joneses.

What we do know: The Data Centers will be forced on us. They are power hungry. We have an unstable grid at the best of times. The Data centers will double our power requirements (among other things). Our bills WILL go up. They WILL try and find shady ways to adjust the bill to avoid sticker shock. This is ONE of those ways.

I keep forgetting about all the many benefits that A.I. and Data Centers will bring for the collective effort that’s involved, and against most everyone’s will one might add…

Someone will have to remind me…

@Mohgarr

Thanks for going through all that to read my comments, and I was very glad to read yours today!

Yep, I’m very aware of the Data Centers and their well oiled financing machine hijacking property, polluting the land, water, air, and making people sick with noise pollution as well. They are driving up the cost of utilities and depleting the water supply with their glutenous demand to protect their generators and computers. So what if a few thousand low income folks suffer and die, progress always has a price. And obviously, there is not now, nor has there ever been, a lick of humanitarian concern or compassion for the havoc they create on the unfortunate population of Memphis.

I haven’t lived in Memphis for years, but still have family members there. They were vaguely aware Musk had bought property somewhere but now, 6 months later, they are stunned at the fallout. Musk planted his death factory in south Memphis, a largely black and lower income part of town. It is also in close proximity to the Mississippi River, soooo convenient.

I watched a suspiciously good YouTube video made by a group named, “A More Perfect Union”. They reported on the already life threatening affects (effects? I always confuse the two) the still unopened center is having it’s neighbors in south Memphis. It was a pathetic, but familiar scene these days, an impotent public venting to the faces of THEIR elected official, the same officials who sold them out. Naturally, the rest of the team of city, county and state shakers and movers, who so successfully engineered this latest variation of “regentrification”, were no where to be seen, but all are tarred with the brush of silent cowardice.

Today I heard Arkansas is hoping to get a Google Data Center across the bridge from Memphis. With both these sides of the river being drained wonder how long before the Mississippi dries up again and river commerce vanishes like all the other neighbors.

Well dear reader, in the last week or two, I have shaped a much clearer picture of the dark side of this power grab unleashed on our country. But suddenly this darkness has hit home in a very personal way that knocks me cold. Parts of phone conversations with my nephew, and my sister, about his new job, are echoing in my ears.

He’s part of a start up crew for one of those centers going up in sleepy, old Abilene…

Hello Marilou, and thank you for posting this.

Wow,I I really did feel his anger! He was quite articulate and so accurately ticked of every one of my observations and complaints. Have to say I admire his ability to rant and rave and never loose his train of thought. I usually dissolve into tears. As it is I realize I’ve been mired in grief mode for a pretty long time about everything, about everyway I see our laws eroded and us being herded and managed, and I can not unsee any of it. Well it’s been long enough. Grief, like anger, is necessary sometimes, but I find neither anger or grief have ever been the effective in resolving anything. But they sure do focus your attention.

Dirt Bag lefty politics goes mainstream in NYC. The youngsters are quite upset about not getting their piece of the capitalist cake like their parents and grandparents were able to do long ago. They’ve seen through the illusion as more and more billionaires are created by gobbling up and consolidating resources, real and fake, diminishing their likely hood of attaining “the good life”. There are simply adjusting to the reality and making the best of the situation.
