… Yes, that was the first “excuse” I believe. Then it was a fueling problem and then it was a helium leak problem. Then they said “We’re not going to the Moon.”, and then a few hours later NASA said “No, no, no we are going around and to the Moon several times within the next 3 years.”. 
What demographic are they trying to placate or impress? Must be very small. The public at large hasn’t seen such a mission in over 50 years. How excited could the masses be? I think what is going on here is the need to show some kind of credibility in these “modern times”. “Here’s what we can do”, or at least on the cusp of doing. It all amounts to a placeholder or token status. I might prefer fake NASA missions (if that’s what they were) to this.
Seems like they’re ALL doing the “cosmic shuffle” …
