Do we have an SOS in this forum?

Slap the devil in the face with a 40 pound trout, Sal. Next, pull up a lawn chair right here next to one of our many “alternative” pastors:

Solari has a thing called “Circles.” There are several intentions behind it, but one of the key components is to connect people locally. Sometimes, locally is an hour or 2 drive, depending on where you’re at.

I am a member of the Nebraska circle, and there is a handful of members in there. I am also a member of a South Dakota circle, because it is only a short drive north. Perhaps people here on GDS could start a thread for their State and see if there are members who want to meet up?

Singalong Lyrics:

I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
I’m gonna write words, oh, so sweet
They’re gonna knock me off my feet
Kisses on the bottom
I’ll be glad I’ve got 'em

I’m gonna smile and say “I hope you’re feelin’ better”
And sign “with love” the way you do
I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you

I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
I’m gonna write words, oh, so sweet
They’re gonna knock me off my feet
Kisses on the bottom
I’ll be glad I’ve got 'em

I’m gonna smile and say “I hope you’re feelin’ better”
And sign “with love” the way you do
I’m gonna sit right down, write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
And make believe it came from you

I don’t know about there being an s.o.s. here, but sounds like that could be a good idea to set up something for that.

Regional groups can be good, plan to sign up at Solari that looks like a good site.

Yeah, four chord tunes kinda do that.

Here is a song for SOS in French!

@Bahri
Yes, as long to keep in mind Solari is a totally different beast in approach and different price range for the join. I can imagine people joining with some type of SOS in mind would totally be dissapointed in joining.

If you want to learn to be self sufficient offline on all fronts and have reality intelligence updates weekly, then there is no better resource in my opinion, but uplifting thru a forum like approach like this one it simply isn’t there!!

My current escapism,

I am keeping sane with gardening: growing beautiful plants, fruit and vegetables. Keeps me fit, great way to de-stress… I put out food for the birds and get all kinds of visitors, including a sparrow hawk on rare occasions. Such a joy, I am very blessed.

Oh, could not agree more undine. Grow my own veggies in my little garden too. Nothing but positive things by interacting with nature and grounding at the same time.

Its almost impossible to get fresh veg in UK supermarkets now. I could not understand why carrots were soggy and rotted quickly until I found a bag that still had ice crystals. Went straight to the manager and asked what the hell - why are these frozen?

They are not frozen, he said. They are deep chilled at -3. I so wanted to slap him. I now take great pleasure in sharing this info with other shoppers.

I am fortunate to live close to Blenheim Park, went and sat by the lake for a while yesterday. I was wonderful to see the glimmers of sunlight on the water. Long walk across the park and back home for tea. Good to have a change of scene.

@undine: Thank you for sharing how you manage to snatch fragments of joy in your daily life.

It is uncanny, but here at home, that is often how we find joy: through plants and animals! We have a garden on a very harsh site, and so it doesn’t do well. So we support the local organic vegetable and fruit and mushroom farmers, and it’s amazing what joy just that little thing brings. Our little garden brings a lot of joy to my husband (the wonderful gardener – and I am the cook), just being with the plants lifts him up every day. And when I go to collect the vegetables for the table, I feel the same way – there is some essense there in the plants that is very healing. We feel the essense of spirit within the plants, and we also know how important they are for all life. Without them, there is no oxygen, and without that, we cannot be. So, we treat them with reverence and respect and allow joy to be transferred from them to us when we are in their presence.

We are glad that you have a park to access, as again, so many lovely plants and trees there that give off a spiritual essence that transmits joy. This is so healing.

And, the animals as well. We don’t find any lying or deceit in animals - they are authentic. And because of that, they bring us much joy as well. Whether it’s a dog or a cat or a frog or squirrel or raven or a finch or slug in the garden or a dragonfly or even a bear who wanders about, they infuse in us a kind of joy, of momentary peaceful connection with another conscious being who is experiencing his or her individual life.

Thank you for giving us this precious reminder, Undine, about how important nature and plants are to help us detoxify from the ugliness brought about by the technocratic society in which we all live.

Your garden sounds challenging. Wish I had a gardener, the hard graft is starting to get a bit much, I am feeling my age. Changing to raised beds on my allotment has helped, so much easier to manage. Lovely to be out in the elements, listening to the birds and the wind, can’t stand being cooped up inside for long. Shame I no longer have a dog to keep me company, they are such a blessing.
