Thanks Mohgarr for your thoughts on this. It’s been difficult for me and I appreciate this website and forum because I can at least chat online w likeminded people since my close circle of people are ‘a wee bit under the weather’ !!

Am thinking ocean and freedom, Ireland only has 5 ships for a navy, and 880,000 square kilometres in which to patrol. No aircraft to speak of. Due West 400 nautical miles then due South, to the decision waypoint to turn left or right (with six month MREs already purchased just in case)

Reefing, drogues in the water and heaving-to deal with most storms keep the boat at the optimal angle to wind and wave (unless it is a rogue in which case the sea wants me anyway). Storms are good, nothing flies and satellites can’t see. In any case, probably too small a minnow on which to waste such expensive to operate resources.

Well, I’m sorry to say, but I’m going to break rank with the comments on this thread. The article was interesting, no doubt, but there was something about it that just tingled my Spidey senses. I smell a rat and as I was reading this article on John Walter’s Substack, all of the flags went up and the bells and whistles were screaming!
Here’s what we know about John Walter - his Substack has only 1.1k subscribers. His postings are all conspiracy related. The photo of him, if it is him, is the back of his head. He has no “About Me” page. He has nothing that I can find on YouTube, Rumble, or anywhere else. In other words, we know nothing about John Walter - if that’s even his real name, or if he’s even an actual person.
I took a clip of 4 paragraphs from his article into the 2 most known AI Detectors - Originality.ai and GPTZero. The text that I used can be seen after the following results images:
Originality Results (looking for 40%+ AI content at 73% confidence):
GPTZero Results (showing nearly 100% confidence that it was AI generated):
Originality is more conservative and is considered to be much more accurate than GPTZero. While it’s true that none of these AI Detectors are bang-on, I’ve used this extensively on student intern cover letters and resumes, and was able to verify some results when we interviewed these students.
That said, my suspicions were confirmed (at least for me). I don’t believe this is real and I’m not convinced that we’re even dealing with a real person here. The text block I used from John Walter’s Substack was as follows (minus the quotation marks):
"Over the next three years, I followed that thread through a labyrinth of shell companies, classified programs, and private military contractors that would sound like paranoid fantasy if I hadn’t documented every step of the way. I burned through my savings. I lost my job at the magazine—too many “conspiracy theories,” my editor said, though he wouldn’t explain why those particular theories were off-limits when we’d published equally wild speculation about other topics. I lost relationships. Friends stopped returning calls. My family started looking at me like I might be having some kind of breakdown.
"And I learned things. Things that I wish I could unlearn, that I wake up at 3 AM thinking about, that have fundamentally altered my understanding of how power actually works in the world—not electrical power, though that’s part of it, but the power to make populations obey, to shape political outcomes, to punish resistance without ever acknowledging that punishment is occurring.
"The first thing I learned is that the Gridkeepers are not a conspiracy in the traditional sense. They’re not a secret society with robes and rituals and a headquarters in an ancient temple somewhere. They’re a network. A loose, constantly shifting coalition of engineers, intelligence operatives, corporate executives, and government officials who share a common interest in maintaining the capability to disrupt electrical supply at will, and who have discovered that this capability is worth more than gold in a world where every aspect of human existence depends on reliable power.

Substack is turning into a slopfest, too bad so sad, how to ruin a good idea. There are only a few articles written by what think are real people that I’ll even glance at anymore. Even some of them use AI, but spell out what content comes from AI.

A lot of those who have integrity are trying to get out from under substack.
As substack starts asking for identity tags.
