Kerch Bridge Completely Knocked Out by Explosion! Russia to Crimea Travel Impossible Now

Finally, some sensible (less emotional or biased) logical, summary analysis of recent events in Ukraine.
One more thing noting is unbelievable amount of corruption in RU army on all levels of command., starting with expired food rations for troops on the grounds and ending on missing critical equipment for offensive, efforts of RU army.

Since we are on the subject of Crimea, I would like to raise a question, hoping for a bit of brainstorming on the part of my fellow Gizars.
I do not believe that Crimea historically speaking, is a Ukrainian native territory, if ever, it should belong to a population that was always in a majority over there, Crimean Tatars. None of the less Khrushchev in 1954 just a year after he become General Secretary assigned it to Ukrainian Soviet Republic.
Qui bono???
At the height of Soviet power, Russians voluntarily give up the most important piece of RE on the Black Sea???
See, I don’t believe for a moment in altruism of Kremlin.
Question is what did Ukrainians give up in exchange, that Russian wanted.?
Scientific know how?
Peace in a guerrilla war (Ukrainian nationalist were fighting Soviets in a militia war way into the 50ties)???
Insight and maybe a control of the post war Nazi Gehlen network??
Or something else?
You tell me I am open to all sensible HOS.

BTW, I will be glad to bow out of these entries. I am fervently anti-Nazi, totally against the Americans who have been money laundering, child trafficking, experimenting with biolabs that are ethnic-specific, and against any regime, American or Ukrainian, who ignore the vote of the people and carry out fascist actions, including imprisonment with no justice, no day in court involved, or bombing a section of the country that voted to stay the way they were. The BuyDem regime has not started bombing us… yet. But that is about the only difference that I see here.

BTW, look up the Kitchen Debates. 1959. Khrushchev had a lot of pressure from the US at that time. Russia took Crimea in 1776.

Lots of interesting opinions & info on this thread.

I still hold the opinion I’ve held all along & that is, if Putin had gone through with this in 2014-15, he might have been successful, but it’s too late now. Putin has given The West too much time to build forces. Regardless of who the Russian military commander is, I think neither side is going to give an inch & this could become (already is) a terrible affair of war for the entire world.

It’s very hard for me to post calmly about this situation. I think other members should be reminded here that there are American bases in Bulgaria.

this is silliness. very great time horseshoes dipped in perception-management. the guy is lying big time.
Russia took over 100000km2 and just levelled the Ukro energy-grid. that is a fact.
this guy earned some money and a lap as a good dog. hopium-seller.

u really do not know what communism was all about, hm? the ethnicity of communist high-power was Jew everywhere and they created further divisions during their reign. not Russian politics but Jewish clan-infightings were these power movements inside the USSR.

That’s what I am saying, Russia fought for Crimea many times and succeeded in last 200 years, why give it up so easily. There must be a second lining in that move.
I am calling dr. Farrell to the rescue; we need his HOS on this subject.

The current street joke in Russia today is:
“Thank God, we ran out of missiles in March, so nobody will blame us for attacking Ukraine(c).”

@dinska
Depends on point of view if glas if half full or half empty.
For some US bases stand for Freedom and Exceptionalism for others the opposite and again others everything in between.
All are on the forum and welcome as long in doing it respectfull. Personally, I am not seeing the un-respectfull.

Although not Dr. JPF here, I wanted to address a possibility. Last month, someone posted an article about the attempted siege of Russia by Napoleon & how Russia lured Napoleon & troops deeply into Russia (into Moscow), in order to cut the supply lines behind him. It worked. It’s possible that this maneuver, or something like it, is being worked by Russia right now on The West. IDK, just a thought.

I don’t understand your note. How does this pertain to my main question, why Khrushchev gave up Crimea to Ukraine in 1954?

@QVBB You’re right, I misunderstood your question. IDK the answer.
Why did Churchill meet with Stalin and the 2 divide up Europe behind Eisenhower’s back?

Churchil didn’t have anything to say at Yalta or Teheran. It was all papa Stalin and Roosvelt.

This wasn’t Yalta or Tehran. This was a private meeting between Churchill & Stalin.

You’re so right.

The fact that Putin has enacted the draft, and is openly threatening to use nukes, is clearly a sign that Russia is winning, and didn’t suffer any major setbacks in the last couple of months.
