Think Danes are putting experimental datacenters under water in the denmark Straight, and also on islands using seawater. At scale that will certainly impact on AMOC, hopefully in a good way perhaps.

… Hmmmm I do not think the chemically treated water should be flushed out into the ocean. Not very “Green” of them.

My Front Range town (UP AND COMING! TOO MANY NEW APARTMENTS! BS NEW MAYOR AND COUNCIL NO ONE VOTED FOR OUT OF THE DENVER MACHINE!) just did something supposedly good. On the tails of voting to use Axon cameras to spy on us instead of Flock (mute cheering) , they said they are trying to ban large data centres in city limits . NOt ‘all’ though…
" City Council held its first reading Tuesday on an ordinance banning hyperscale data centers in the city, voting 5-1 to move the ordinance to second reading, with three amendments.
Councilmember Diane X was the sole dissenting vote, and Councilmember YX was absent from the meeting. The ordinance will not be voted on for second reading or receive a final decision until June 9 at the earliest, following an opportunity for public comment and discussion.
The ordinance defines a hyperscale data center as a data center that has a projected or contracted peak electrical demand of 5% of the [X River Power Authorit’s nameplate capacity, or 100 megawatts, whichever is lower, whether at initial operation or through phased load expansion. This sets the minimum threshold for a facility to qualify as a hyperscale data center at about 70 megawatts, according to the council. Nameplate capacity refers to power generation under ideal conditions."

Ah, he didn’t mean to demean anyone. They just stand in the way of his economic development plans he ran ön… it’s for their own good, plus it’ll mean more customers for his pizza restaurant that seems to be his calling card for civic pay back.

… Yep, I would also, like you, suggest that he has either made deals or has deals in the works (either directly or indirectly) with those who are “Data Center Friendly”, in the works that would “benefit” him. Hence the use of the word “poor” in connection with those who oppose the Data Center.
