NEWS AND VIEWS FROM THE NEFARIUM

yeah it was in the other thread somewhere that there is that directive favouring Neoclassical architecture in Fedland again. lol
Our friend Kenny says it is to cover up the hollow lack of a real culture by appropriating Greco-Roman aesthetics (again).

… seems like over time one of the unintended consequences of this practice would be to produce diminishing returns (profits) for “insurance”. If their technology became so precise as to predict within a very small margin who would NOT need (COST) insurance … then those to whom they offered insurance would know that they did NOT really need the insurance being offered. At this point then is not the insurance game up? It only works (is profitable) because across the total N of those being covered the vast majority (according to the insurance companies own actuarial tables) will not end up as COST. Hence, they are happy to take your premiums knowing that for the largest part of the N it is all profit and NO COST. If they significantly reduced the N(sub C) resulting in the issuance of insurance primarily to those who do not need insurance (small likelihood of a payable event occurring during their term - and as no one in their right mind would now see Whole Life or other insurance products as “investments”) then there would be no need (or at best a very small need) for their product…

Shenanigans are most profitable in the fog and fuzzy environment.
But, it doesn’t mean that insurance businesses won’t disappear in the new/old feudal economy.

… you are right. Even the Mafia offers “insurance”. It sure would be a shame if ____________. Fill in the blank.

Hmm… You really made me think there, Scarmoge! I don’t know. Some random reflections though: Would most people really figure out that if they’re offered insurance, they don’t need it? Also, in some states certain kinds of insurance (e.g., car insurance) are legally required. It’s practically impossible to get a mortgage without homeowner’s insurance. In a pinch, there’s not much stopping kleptocrats from expanding legal mandates for various types of insurance, if not doing so would put the insurance racket out of business.

Good one, Scarmoge!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

But, do I still get my free Donut???

Pretty sure they don’t have (need) insurance in socialist/communist states (where this is heading) so technology revealing which citizen is going to need more care likely will not be a factor. In a system like this you’re either poor and in a long line to get health care, or rich and you travel to another nation to get treated.

Next thing you know, they’ll be applying the new directive to follow Greco-Roman architecture guidelines for the entrances to charnelhouses. (Oops - we don’t have any of those these days, do we? Wouldn’t want to give them ideas …)

Supposedly Trump has mandated all future US government buildings are to designed in the classical Greek-Roman architectural motif.
Maybe they’ll just slap up a facade on current buildings since government employees are to be reduced.:speak_no_evil:

… Well, we should be rebuilding the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus.

I prefer Isis Athena myself
Why not Mercury while we are at it?

… I picked that particular temple because it was one of he major temples on Capitoline Hill.
