When I was young and more naïve, a scant 14 years ago, I thought I could both dislike and disagree with the federal government, yet shut up my conscience and make a living and gain expertise, and yes power by starting in the military and ‘fixing the system’ and working my way up from the inside.
Naïve is right, my soul is strong, and I could not quell my conscience and had to get out of service.
In ‘gearing myself up’ for shipping out I played the game that was sponsored and created by the Army, they had/have their own first person shooter, among other games, as well as watching military films.
This not only trains your hand eye coordination and situational awareness in the ‘screen’ but makes you used to violence.
Of course nothing in reality is ultimately like a video game. But every step counts.
