There are already computer chip shortages. Many chips are made in Taiwan, which may go offline if China annexes it.
Texas seems to already be at the center of creating replacement manufacturing facilities for chips, including a $17B plant about to be constructed in Taylor, TX.

It’s kind of what they want anyways, except in these ones you really do sell your soul to the company store.
