the Hungarians are quite literary with many writers and poets, and we have all the world literature (legends, myths, philosophies, history, poems etc) translated as well starting from antiquity up to the 19th-20th century.
only from the 20th century I have all the sci-fi and fantasy classics up to the 90ies and read most of them. I have many of them both in English and Hungarian, like Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Asimov, Herbert et al. These were mostly permitted and translated in the communist era, unlike sociology and psychology, those came only after the 70ies.

Unfortunately about the only known famous history of Hungary in the US is the Gabor family came from there. 
. The Austro-Hungarian empire was mentioned briefly in world history lessons. I detested world history the way it was presented to me, mainly just memorizing dates major players. I had to reeducate myself later, still working on that project.
oh. Hungarian history was subject to defamation, erasure, falsification and ridicule.

so the Hungarians/Magyars are the descendants/lineage of the Royal Scythians, who after coming back to the Carpathian basin in AD 895, in A.D. 1000 established a Christian kingdom in the middle of Europe, with the only Christian Saint Crown in the world. Our folklore, our real history, our Gestas and Codices, our runic writing and even the new genetic findings/facts all support, backs up, corroborate this fact, which was suppressed and persecuted and ridiculed by the Habsburgs - who ruled us - and the Western world with the help of the comprador scientists and by the mostly atheist Jewish Communists as well. Now - thanks to the last 30 years of research and genetic(!) findings, - they can not deny the evidences and proofs any more, everything is coming to light… everybody from here to the Far East know these things. From the Turks to the Chinese, hence was the Eastern Opening politics of Orbán. The Japanese acknowledge us as the only nation who is able to forge a real sword beside them!
Our Kingdom is the ‘property’ of the Holy Mother, or as we call her “Happy/Blessed Wife/Madame”, to whom it was offered by Saint I. Stephen. He is the last mutual saint of the Church before the schism. The Hungarian Catholic Church is one of a kind, it has uniquely Greek-Ortodox parts too.
Our Kingdom is an Apostolic Kingdom as Rome acknowledged it from the start, - since I. Stephen converted the whole nation, - from which start Rome/Papacy and the Germans (and the Holy Roman Empire) are trying to destroy or rule it. the king even had the power to veto the papal election until 1978, when the then Communist government gave up this right…
the situation did not change, right now we have a new total puppet government of the EUSSR Empire, which is selling out the country after 16 years of strengthening under Orbán, who was couped, betrayed thanks to the pressure and manipulation of the West, which Pfizer von der Leyen openly admitted. that was nice of her.
now we are in interregnum since 1949 thanks to the communists and the following politicians, who did not restore our historical constitution where every power comes from the Crown, and every land is owned by it…
so now in the last 6 months we have a new fascist-communist governance, who came in sheep clothing and misled the populace, mostly those under 30, thanks to the active collaboration of Facebook and the German BND and Polish secret service. this is what we know right now, and factually so.

p.s.: our language holds many secrets. its older then Greek, Hebrew or Sanskrit. with the latter it shows many commonality both in vocabulary and grammar. look after Sir John Bowring’s ‘The Poetry of the Magyars’ book. you’ll be surprised. he was a good friend of Alexander Kőrösi Csoma, the first tibetologist in the world and the only acknowledged Western Bodhisattva, whose sculpture is at the Taisho University of Tokyo:
