Well, no, they definitely can be sued, but seems like the Government is trying to take the blame for this one about patent infringement claims by Arbutus Biopharma and Genevant Sciences against Moderna . . .
From that article:
"“I think the U.S. government statement is quite important … because it really sets out that the free distribution of vaccines to the public is covered by 1498,” James Love, director of Knowledge Ecology International, told The Epoch Times. The government purchased COVID-19 vaccines with taxpayer funds and has made them free to the public through the present day.
Love found the government’s argument strong, and believes it will ultimately convince Goldberg to rule in favor of the government and Moderna."
I’m no expert about how lawsuits work in general, but I am currently being sued by a couple collection agencies for debt. So far the court hasn’t even bothered to schedule a hearing for these and I don’t have any money to pay them anyway. If I did have a hearing I could explain to a judge that I have a lot more important debts that need to be paid first before I could even consider paying the ones I’m being sued about.
Anyway that is obviously a random tangent there not related to story by the Epoch Times except that it is in the subject of lawsuits.
I subscribed to the print edition of that paper years ago, read some stories but didn’t seem to be that helpful for maintaining my sanity so did not stay a subscriber long term.
Not sure that paper is really the sanest source for resources about pushing back against insanity, is there any reason why you post so many articles from this one source apart from all others?
Start thinking BIG! They are not exempt IF they committed FRAUD. In other words, if They KNOWINGLY made ANY claims, assertions, or in any way WITHELD evidence that was contray to known facts then they are liable for any, and all damages.
While the time limit of any violation of the stated offenses differs according to State laws they are typically measured in years. Then if there is ANY attempt to 'obfuscate, hide, or otherwise ‘hide’ the Truth it only results in further transgressions, which results in further transgressions.
BOTTOM LINE ANALYSIS is this; the more effort put into hiding ‘stuff’ simply means the TIME limits are extended, as well as the penalties for doing so.

There are different journalistic mafias. I read everything… I research and write professionally. At this website, as a volunteer with limited time to devote here, I posted this theme, it is productive and I welcome your contributions to Pushback, your critiques of Epoch included. Epoch offers international news, biased against CCP. Current analyses of bias find them leaning right. I read Epoch and their researched pieces with those caveats in my head. Good to see you.

To me, this is simply another trial balloon media attempt tp prep the narrative. To try and get the public “believing” their non suable B.S.
Expect more of this.
In fact, as the suits get stronger against BIG PHARMA; the media blitzkrieg will ratchet up, on radio, the internet, TV, and even in sitcom scripts.
If the USSA is still number one in ANY arena - it’s Propatainment!
