It’s funny you mentioned a concert because Mr. Couches first wife left him… and he got remarried to a gold-digging country music star wanna-be whose probably 20 years younger than him. Her name is Stephanie Quayle… She recently had a “concert” in Summerfield a few months ago, and literally had 30 people show up…

…I love your concert idea, but I think there would be some logistical challenges for a town most people in North Carolina have not even heard of… However we have already gotten resolutions against this de-annexation from the town councils of our neighbors in Oak Ridge, Jamestown, Stokesdale and Brown Summit and the support keeps growing… But maybe we could kind of reverse your idea and threaten to send towns a Stephanie Quayle CD if they don’t support us :slight_smile:

Mr. Couch has dumped millions into promoting Stephanie’s unoriginal-pre packaged career, by buying her social media fans from the middle east, buying her spots in television shows, and setting her up as the opening act on b-list country singer’s tours… but he just cannot make her career take-off to the level of success she desperately craves. Her public persona is fake and her acting is about as good as her music writing. Her brand is “Cute Country Girl who overcame hard times and just lovvvves to have fun” her “hit” song is “Whatcha Drinkin’ Bout” and her target demographic is anybody who will listen (i.e. anybody who has bad taste in music). Whenever that camera is on her, she makes exageratted faces and is always “on” and trying to portray what a fun person she is (in her own mind at least).

I think the WEF uses already successful-greedy socio-paths like Mr. Couch to do their job for them without them even knowing… I doubt has ever been to Davos, although he is definitely aware of Agenda 2030 and 2040 because people talk about them at the town hall meetings… But I do bet Mr. Couch goes to these national developer conferences and gets the ideas they promote from them sold to him as ways to increase productivity, profits and efficiency… Because wherever he got the “apartment villages within walking distance of almost everything idea…” that is not a Mr. Couch original in the least. So my best guess is he is a pawn of the agenda without even knowing it, or maybe he does. know it but doesn’t care. I think he’s worth about 100-200 million dollars… He’s not wealthy enough to be in the Davo’s crowd, although his greed and sociopathy would make him a perfect fit.

I agree, it could even be computer algorithms doing it., mixed in with a little price fixing from the large real-estate firms… Funnily enough other houses in my neighborhood have neither gone up or down on Zillow in the last year.

Mr. Couch has been complaining about the affordable housing “crisis” in Summerfield (as if he actually cares). H has bought A LOT of houses, in the area and turned them into high-price rental units over the past decade. He literally is part of the problem and just so happens to offer a self-serving “solution.” His plans for Summerfield have been in the works for almost 20 years.

Stephanie Quayle’s life is centered around Stephanie Quayle. She will take any attention she can get… and her greatest ambition is to be rich and famous…

She actually believed she could charm our town into this development disaster at one point… She sashayed confidently up to the microphone like she was on a runway and said " Heyyyyy yalllll hows everybody doing tonight?" (you could literally hear crickets chirping outside it was so quiet) and then proceeded to talk to us like we were just her best friends and tried to emotionally manipulate us through one of her life’s stories (it was completely inappropriate to the situation and she really miscalculated her approach)… Her reception was so bad, that now she does not get up and talk anymore and avoids all eye contact.

She spends very little time in Summerfield and is always out on her silly tour bus promoting herself and her vapid music.

I agree justawhoaman… That is another reason why I love Summerfield because our property taxes are very low compared to other places near by. We have a limited services government… No public trash collection, no street lights, no public transportation, everyone is on well water and septic.

Our neighboring city Greensboro, on the other spends money like crazy and is even trying to increase their property taxes by 6%. They just bought brand new Electric City busses and they just spend their citizens money like there’s no tomorrow.

Greensboro’s problem in my opinion is that they are so diverse that they can’t organize and fight the corruption. It is like 50 different communities all living separately, but in one city… there are no shared values that bring the whole city together. Summerfield is for the most part 1 community whose love of the rural life unites them, and we do have all kinds of people who do live here. But because Summerfield happens to be mostly Christians who are white and well off (although everybody is welcome regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status) it brings a lot of jealousy, distrust, and ignorance from some people. Mr. Couch has used that fact many times, and tried to bring our lack of “diversity” up at the meetings. He tries to exploit the race card for his own gain, which I see people do time and time again in positions like his… He has basically said that minorities are priced out of living here, and the solution is apartment villages… But Summerfield is not stupid and sees the argument for what it is.

I don’t understand why people spend so much money for rent either, where does all that money go?

It can make sense for new construction if rent money goes towards covering the cost of the building itself, then maintenance/repair costs + utilities down the road, but usually seems like prices are way higher than they need to be for any of that.

Ouch, I kind of feel bad for her reading this but that does sound bad.

Looked up some of her song lyrics are: “May the bridges that I burn light my way,” what??

I know a band from Branson is having a concert in late November in Charlotte, that one should be a lot better than Quayle.

If she wasn’t complicit in her husbands attempt to destroy our town… I would not be so hard on her… Because I know that in life, everybody struggles and I think she is probably just an extremely insecure person… But as long as he has all that cash, Stephanie will go along with anything he says… But a part of me can actually empathize with her… although I truly believe her music is lousy and her public persona is about as fake as they come. But I care more about the quality of Summerfield’s schools and it’s residents than I do about her issues.

And I agree about the rent… All the money goes into the apartment owners pockets… Thats how Mr. Couch made his hundreds of millions… Thats why he is so adament about high density housing… He wants that monthly winfall and to add the apartments to his portfolio…

But in my opinion, if someone can afford a 1200 dollar a month rent payment, they should be given the chance to make 1200 dollar mortgage payments. People need to have equity in the town they live in… It builds stronger communities, and is probably the reason we have virtually no crime in Summerfield…

I lived in an apartment in college, and I know sometimes it makes sense… But renting an apartment does not build wealth for most people… In fact it keeps them poor… Our town has renters, but it does not have any apartments… We allow duplexes, quadraplexes and trailers… so there are affordable options, if Mr. Couch does not buy them up, which he often does. But I’m a teacher and I can afford a house on Mr. Couches own street (needless to say I am not on his Christmas card list lol, he HATES me)… That means that anyone of my co-workers could afford to live their if they are wise with their money and choose to live here. I am a minority at the school I work at, so anyone of my minority co-workers could afford a place there if they choose to, but they don’t.

It just makes me sick when people use the race card, like Mr. Couch has… He literally pulled up a power point talking about all the towns that have been successfully sued due to their lack of diversity and affordable housing… He even had a minority employee, his only one at Summerfield Farms, come to one of the meetings and 1000% lie about how horribly she was treated in Summerfield because of her race, which came out later, that ohhh she is an employee of Mr.Couch. It was such a sham… The guy is a liar, a con artist, and a bully… And I have to believe his wife is either complicit or naive… and she is not naive.

Some news the commissioners decided to not buy that old airport, so just that won’t necessarily keep fema out but at least means tax revenue isn’t being wasted on another airfield.

Heard about another planned development for 160 or 120 apartments, people are upset about that one too but hopefully won’t be too bad. That’s less than 400 what Couch wants to do in Summer field, is that accurate his plan is just for 400 units?

Looks like 600 is where it’s at now in one of those articles you referenced:

That sounds like good news, I’m glad the commissioners made the right choice and I hope it was for the right reasons … And you are correct, Mr. Couch is at 600 right now, but that is just to get his foot in the door… it’ll never end if he gets his way.

I hope it is not too bothersome to continue to ask for prayers for my town. We are facing the largest de-annexation in North Carolina history in the coming short session this Spring. The geographic center of my town will be de-annexed, making it us look like a donut without the hole! The developer has refused to meet with our town council and has gotten one of the most powerful senators in the state to slip a deannexation clause into House Bill 5 as a mere footnote. It is literally a case of a guy with a 100 million dollar development company who makes the maximum amount of donations to a senator and holds fundraisers for this senator, and now the senator is now letting him create urban village in 1000 acres. It is an insane development project fueled by greed and enabled by corruption! The developer even had an employee file a complaint with the naacp saying that our towns housing policies discriminated against her, and now we are facing a lawsuit from them too. Any prayers, well wishes or positive energy would be very helpful. I appreciate this community for being a positive force in the world!

Prayers offered… you should share this story with Catherine Fitts…she has experienced a similar thing from "developers’… and my home town of Sioux Falls suffered it once years ago…

I watched this happen in Florida, the developers buy up as much property as they can and clear cut everything. The animals have nowhere to go and results in a breakdown of habitat for the Scrub Jays, Gopher Tortoises, Florida Panther and the bears, among others.

I placed petitions for the Scrub Jay and when we had 10k signatures it went to Tallahassee to be ignored.

Well that explains a lot…she’s a daughter of a shyster and cut her baby teeth learning the trade from him.
He used to appear on the Alex Jones Show. Hucksters galore parading as good guys taking orders from
“above”.
