So much to be said about this one ... ChatGTP Sermon ... "humans, don't fear death"

98.7 percent comes from a radio station.
Oops!
From the AI, so the AI tells him?
Does the programmer speak directly to GOD?
Does AI have a connection to God? Or, his counterpoint?
And, is this crowd of worshipers?
Or sheep, waiting to get sheared?

On this point we agree…care must be taken…

And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning stararises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture becomes a matter of someone’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. 2 Peter 2:19-21

Harnessing the power of 10,000 GPT-4 Monkeys to code at warp speed is just bananas.

… you know this picture was very enlightening. I have always wondered what was inside Searle’s “Chinese Room”. Now we know. Weak AI. With all of this ChatGTP stuff going on it would seem that now is the time to revisit Searle’s paper (“Minds, Brains, and Programs” in Behavioral and Brain Sciences 3 (3): 417-457). and ALL of the issues it raises. Follow this with a reading of “I Am a Stange Loop” by Douglas Hofstadter (2007). Fun, fun stuff and very relevant.

Looks to be rather interesting paper…

Book?

… absolutely Bill … excerpts should be included in every set of Intro to Philosophy readings.

Always happy to yap about that one.

My reading list is getting longer than my arm.

… me too. I’m glad to have that problem.

Thank you I will look into the references that you recommended. If you have any interpretations of the picture below which was titled “Debugging” I would be interested in what you come up with.

Interesting things about these chat bot technologies; is that they’re moving in directions untoward predictable. Let’s go for a wild speculative ride; starting at CERN circuit 1989 where Tim Berners-Lee wrote a paper: “Information Management: A Proposal”. where he solved the problem of computers all around the globe being able to speak to each other = hyper text. Now, that means, to me; that CERN was working on social media and, dare I imply - in gleam-in-the-eye realms like…, Mandela effects?
Now back-to-the-future with chat box tech. Over time, programing has gotten more approachable, although; it has remained in a realm reserved mainly for trained experts. AI may soon bridge that skill gap, making it possible for you and I to program a computer to do what we want it to do.[doesn’t that imply that AI can already program as well]. AI tools based on large language models[open AI’s ChatGPT] have already begun to change the way many professional coders do their jobs. They can find bugs, identity mistakes, offer coding suggestions, or even translate code between languages. The ramifications of machines starting to take over what was supposed to be one of the can’t miss careers of the digital age are causing panic in some programming circles. Imagine a world that we can all program computers and improve them to meet our own personal needs and desires. That future is rapidly becoming present.

… apologies SunnyBoy for not replying earlier. I’m currently wandering aimlessly around Europa and this is the first opportunity I’ve had to connect to the internet. A quite interesting picture. Let me ponder it a while before I comment. Cheers.
