Hinduism represents the surviving fragment of Vedic philosophy and shares an essentially identical structure with Persian Zoroastrianism. Although each tradition later developed significant cultural differences, natural given their differing environments, both trace back to a common source. Comparative studies of Sanskrit, Farsi, and Old Slavic reveal roughly seventy percent agreement, much like the relationship between Japanese and Mandarin. Likewise, Gaelic and the Old English of the northern British Isles bear close affinities to the Norse languages, which themselves share strong links with Old Slavonic. I would recommend “Artic Home in the Vedas” by Tilak to discover the origin of the Vedas.

Depends on your desired time period. If one only wishes to go back as far as Babel, or to the Aryan invasions, or all the way back to the Proto-Aryan Atlantean epoch.

More on a spiritual journey, led by the Holy Spirit, rather than purely academic; although in experience, the two are often mutually inclusive. Thank you for the feed back as well as the confirmation on Hinduism.
