Totally know what he’s talking about!! My generation was raised to respect The Authorities, so, we used to trust whatever a Dr. told us or tried to lead us into!! I caught it with my own Dr. a couple years ago. Their “system” is set up to keep The System running by implying we need this test or the other; or we need to see this other Dr. for whatever!! But you are the only one who lives in YOUR body, so most times we know what is best for our own situation!!

I ran into this recently, too. It was pathetic. The guy didn’t care about my situation, he only cared about showing off his expertise. His problem was that that expertise didn’t run to things like forming coherent thoughts. I just had to stick to the point and get the information I needed out of him. It was like trying to take chocolate out of a fat kid’s hands.

Thank GOD my parents were both physicians and discussed patients they knew were screwed up by other physicians. They never spoke in English so we couldn’t repeat what we heard. Meanwhile, we all learned a little German.
BTW, I have learned to only trust those physicians recommended by my parents. They both died in 1996.
