787 headed to Gatwick falls out of sky upon takeoff in India with 242 on board

Boeing 787 dreamliner with 242 aboard just fell out of the sky in India, it was headed to Gatwick. Following take off made it 600 feet off ground then crashed into blocks of flats.

Many dead on ground, no survivors on plane. 53 British nationals on board plane apparently.

The 787 was 11 years old.

A pilot just commented on Sky News that he watched the video and could see the flaps were not set correctly.

Indian pilots are considered to be pretty competent I thought?

I thought computers pretty much flew planes now, both take off and landing. Somebody messed with computers?

Not sure what nationality the pilots were, I didn’t check but maybe it’s been announced?

Yeah seems weird according to other pilots who looked at the crash footage. 787 dreamliner had not had a crash up to this point.

Even birdstrike would not impact flaps, redundancy in hydraulics for many decades, can these big birds be ā€˜hacked’ remotely? It would certainly be an attack vector for an unhappy adversary.

I believe they all can be flown remotely.

I think my days of flying are over, I did it a lot and never thought twice. Now I feel like its time to leave the poker table.

Still very rare, just really terrifying.

Watch the video. The plane lost power just after takeoff and crashed, then exploded due to the extreme quantity of jet fuel on board. I doubt pilot error was a factor.

Mechanics error, forgot to change the fuel filters…?

Definitely a mechanical error… but induced, sabatoge, accidental… should look at the passenger list first.

Yet ANOTHER Dreamliner … Every Dreamliner on the planet should be grounded immediately …

Evidently the plane was 11 years old.
Mechanical issue whether deliberate or overlooked maintenance makes sense with the miles over the years flown.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner that crashed today was delivered to Air India in January 2014, making it approximately 11 years old.
(Per a query I made that used info via CNBC.)

Did CNN and all the other news channels release the wrong video? This guy says this is the real video. He smells a ā€œRatā€

I read there was a single survivor from on board the aircraft, a miracle if true.

Saw a video of that, he was in seat 11A last row of business class by the front left wing window seat. When plane crashed the left wing opened a hole for him to crawl out. Yeah, a miracle.

Would leave tell-tale signs.

It would be very interesting to know if there were any British/Asians involved in the defence industry on board. So far, in the UK press nothings come up to get me slightly suspicious.

Let’s see? How many times have I stepped on the break pedal instead of the gas pedal while driving my auto? If the copilot unintentionally grabbed the wrong control, my conclusion is he/she was mentally incapacitated, maybe preoccupied with other thoughts, insufficiently rested or under the influence of chemicals of some sort. If there’s never been a fatal crash in Dreamliner, well here’s the first. Why? Ummm
