Comical how people can see so differently. I see America as coming home in a round about way. Its founding is on slavery and now wants to own the whole planet (and beyond) thru slavery. Yes, your constitution was exceptional but american citizens did / do nothing with it. As CAF puts it, most rather have their cheques then coming clean.
That said, does that make people outside the US better people? Not necessarely, the US is a mirror one should long and hard look at for the rest of planet earth, especially europe where I reside!

I’ve always wondered what is the allure of living in Thailand for journalists that base their operations out of that country. It is an ancient culture that has witnessed military coups one after another to stabilize a seemingly restless population. Relaxed and plentiful sexual opportunities seem a big draw too along with tropical weather conditions.
Yes, journalists that are good at their craft can made good look bad, bad look good and any mixture in between.
