Probably just AI foolishness, but I love it. If the software is open source, one could hack it and create a homebrew drone defense system. Just a bit more power in the laser of course. Need to know effective range of the sensor system though 
When I got out of the War, I went to college on the GI Bill.
Fortunately,I acquired a very small apt next to the college.
It was at the bottom floor of a large apt complex.
I was partime maintanance/tenant.
HUGE Roach PROBLEM!
As I was a young man, I had black lights.
My friends would take the florescent paint[i bought for the roaches/entertainment], and brush the roaches as we sat, drank and talked.
Later after rolling some joints we’d smoke the roaches!!!
BOTH MEANINGS!
I had boxes of rubber bands distrubuted, [next to seating] to shoot the movig lights…
Painted roaches under black lights.
AND, the pass around grass [called roaches].
Smoked the Roaches!

Felt airgun cleaning pellets are a fun way to dispatch pests too.
Being a mossie magnet, I anticipate a purcahse when it goes commercial
