I’m so glad these ragtimes by William Bolcom are being recorded. I ordered a couple of CD’s of his piano rags that were recorded on Hyperion, but this is one of my favorites (the CD also features Mr. Hamelin’s performances). This is a finely crafted and moving, evocative piece of music that Bolcom composed in memory of is father:

Yes! The opening of this piece became an earworm for me in the 70’s, and still is, [even before The Sting made ragtime popular again]! When I got the albums in vinyl, this one and one of Scott Joplin’s rags, I fell in love with this music! Thank you, Joseph, for bringing back memories from my youth!
