”I always thought someone should do something about that…Then I realized I am somebody.”- Lily Tomlin.
A bit of background…
After having read “The Giza Power Plant” by Chistopher Dunn in the late 90’s, an old friend suggested that I should check out “The Byte Show” hosted by GeorgeAnn Hughes. It was there that I gained my first exposure to Joseph Farrell’s work (JPF if you’re naughty) through their excellent series of long-form conversations about ancient societies and cosmic wars (these are a must-listen if you’ve not heard them…GeorgeAnn was an interviewer extraordinaire and is dearly missed.
Over time I’ve collected the lion’s share of Joseph’s work, including the volumes that I’d likely not have picked up independently had I not come to realize the interconnectivity inherent in some subjects which I’d previously been prejudiced against. E.g - I’ve personally never really enjoyed anything related to the Civil War but after my exposure in the vid-chats to President Lincoln tampering with the monetary system, say…or the international players involved in said war that, until recently, I had relatively little knowledge of…the relevance of these subjects heretofore ignored, made itself readily apparent. In fact, through these chats, I’ve found more and more confirmation that, although history may indeed not be repeating itself… it sure seems to be doing a heck-of-alot more than just rhyming. I’d even speculate that the sheet music is being passed down from the same source.
Of course, I’m far from an adept regardless of any time I’ve invested. For instance, I’ve yet to “try” and tackle Joseph’s “Tome”: God, History, and Dialectic. I’m certainly not immune to intimidation. I mean…it’s four HEALTHY volumes and no small task for a lean and hungry gentleman such as myself…Even the illustrious KatieB once commented in the chat that she
wasn’t sure she was up to the task as yet: “It’s so BIG and churchy!” …Still, I’ll not let my weaker side prevail. I know where my Wheaties are, and how to eat them and that’s just what I’m asking of anyone here who’s still afraid to give the vid-chats a shot.
So almost ten years ago now I found this website and became a full member. Originally solely for the Great Pyramid weapon hypothesis and its role in the Cosmic War. These vid-chats were conceived (I believe) mainly as a forum for questions that readers may have had about the books themselves. If that WAS the case, then it has evolved. You’d be surprised at the breadth and depth of the subjects that Joseph has covered, and perhaps even more surprised at his scholarship and ability to demonstrate connections and ideas “on the fly”. I’ve seen submissions that range from the theologically profound, to comments on current events, and even the seemingly material mundane. In short, there really isn’t anything that I’ve found as a subject that’s off limits.
Here are the basic rules as I know them:
Keep submissions to roughly one page. If you’re new to writing then just give the composition and punctuation your best shot and try not to worry. We’re all here to learn.
No profanity or foul language in the chat. It’s a family show after all Be courteous to the fellow
members. If you don’t feel comfortable typing responses back and forth then you’re certainly welcome to “lurk”. In my time here I can tell you that a great many people choose to simply show up and listen. No submission is even required unless you feel comfortable. In my last appeal “Sunnyboy” mentioned that his experience was that it felt similar to a group of students gathered around a fire as the village elder passed down his “teachings” (paraphrasing).
Try to keep the pejorative statements about “Big Mike” and “Big Mac”, etc to a minimum during the chats so as not to distract others who are actually there to learn. (actually that rule really pretty-much only applies to me so carry on)
If you do choose make a submission then it’s “due” the previous night the chat would take place and by 10pm central time (if I remember correctly).
Also, in addition to the current chats, full membership will allow you access to the the chat archive going back to 2011. Some of us have also been keeping logs of the chat comments as they happened live which have references and book suggestions based on the topics being discussed. I cannot stress enough that the aforementioned archives have been a treasure-trove of information and worth the price of admission by themselves. I’ve been endeavoring (so far without success) to make these chats and chat-logs indexed and searchable. If you join, and would like to help…that would be fantastic.
There also exists a great number of guest and member interviews, dialogs and “members only” additional content from appearances made on various host podcasts, etc.
Bearing all these facts in mind…I’d like to get some feedback on a tentative proposal designed to incentivize that first step into membership and participation in the vid-chats. I’ve yet to work out the logistics and feasibility but like to TRY to offer the following in a “contest” of sorts:
I’d like to offer, and personally fund, what would be the equivalent to 5 one-month “try and see” full memberships (one each to five different people and perhaps more if this effort sees any success) as I’m convinced that, again, once people are exposed to the value offered there firsthand… most will endeavor to continue membership on their own. As to the logistical hurdles, it seems that currently there is no option for “one month” gift subscriptions. I’ve made some inquires to see if this might be a possibility or failing that perhaps a workaround in the way of a direct payment to said “contestants” might be possible. It should be noted that this proposal has not been sanctioned and may not be permissible or indeed feasible. The idea is my own, and at this point is an open proposal only.
As to how I (and whoever else might choose to help) would select the five individuals should this idea see implementation, I’d simply ask that anyone willing to participate write a short paragraph on the reasons they’d like to be a member, perhaps the subjects their most interested in or how they were exposed to Joseph’s work, etc. I’d also be open to perhaps helping previous members who might not be able to justify the funds as potential candidates
I’m not interested in collecting personal information, this is all very preliminary and I’m very open to any suggestions. This is simply an ad hoc effort to try and stimulate some movement in the uninitiated so that we all may see some benefit. This is not my only idea but something I’d like to start with and see what the community might abide
That’s my spiel fella’s. The overall message is that the vid-chats are nothing to fear regardless of one’s education or reading/writing level. In my near ten years of membership…I’ve never found the right occasion to make a submission of my own. I’ve started a few… but then, well, life happens sometimes. However, as I’ve mentioned many times now…I’m constantly learning even from the static effort of simple attendance, always going well out of my way to make time in my busy schedule to attend them live (the recordings are almost as good though) and wouldn’t trade my experiences for gold.
I mean, c’mon guys, look at me… I’m just a know-nothing, blue-collar arm-chair philosopher with an obvious tendency to ramble, a terrible nervous speller with an irrational fear of the semicolon and to top it all off, have a firmly established position on the “working” end of the autistic spectrum…If I can handle this stuff, ANYONE can.
Remember, like Alec Baldwin says: You miss 100 percent of the shots you DON’T take.
Come see us. The waters fine.
