Dr. Farrell has mentioned many times that the techniques of Affektenlehre still survive in movies. I think this is a good example for people to see, crude and simple but effective. In the movie Once Upon of Time in The West the harmonica plays a key role almost like a character. Every time the main protagonist is close you hear the harmonica being played and at the end you get the full realization. It represents the main character but also the whole revenge theme of the movie, it works at a multiplicity of levels.
This scene always clenched my heart.
