AI Could Replace Humans in the Next 5 Years: Henry Kissinger (insider.com)

Could AI and robots eventually replace humans? Maybe. But all this talk of humans being obsolete in a few years because of AI strikes me as totally unrealistic – the dream of those who’ve never spent a day in their life doing anything resembling manual labor or complex project management.

I’m sure the elites wish it could happen tomorrow. But how many of the people making these predictions have any idea what’s involved in building or maintaining infrastructure, or setting up and integrating totally new systems on a giant scale and getting them to work?

Do they have armies of robots somewhere ready to collect the trash, run the water-treatment facilities, deliver the mail, repair air conditioners, put out fires, respond to 911 calls, manufacture clothes, and build their new smart cities? Are all the AI, robots, drones, and driverless cars ready to be up and running, on software that isn’t going to continually crash, within the next five years? I’ll believe it when I see it.

Well … with a bit of luck … old Heinz WON’T be here to see it … Fingers crossed …
