The point of no return is when general AI becomes reality.
This is bad now; but, it is still ādumbā.
It relies on the force of massive data.
General intelligence AI, will be smart AND have the massive data.
Thatās what ātheyāreā worried about.
It IS a Game Changer.
And, that Bad Genie - wonāt go back into the bottle.
The problem will be, how many generations will it ābirthā, before it starts killing?
And, by that; I also mean - killing its own?
And, what kind of mind control[s] will it perfect?

I would point anyone freaked out by this stuff in the direction of Terry Pratchettās āLords and Ladiesā. Iām not aware of any text that better deals with this fundamental existential problem.
