King of the Jews by Leslie (Jeffrey) Epstein. https://x.com/BerwickJeff/status/2031373133903487437?s=20
I don’t think I can bring myself to read something like that.
Wondering if you’ve read it, and what you thought?
Nope was wondering if it is worth the investment of time and money. Being Epstein doubted it might be either. But the play on Trump is interesting.
MarkSean: What’s this book?
SunnyBoy: Some story, s’posed to be good for you.
MarkSean: Did you read it?
SunnyBoy: I’m not gonna read it, you read it.
MarkSean: I’m not going to read it.
SunnyBoy: Let’s get Mikey.
MarkSean: Yeah!
SunnyBoy: He won’t read it; he hates everything.
SunnyBoy: He likes it! Hey Mikey!

Ah shades of the school yard. How sweet.

SHARICK : (Lurking and Smirking in the shadows, with his pen and notebook): Verrie Inteerrresstinck --Veech von off ze Dumkopf vill take ze Bait —
Haha, although to some I may appear to lurk and smirk, my darting in and out of the Forum as of late has several causes: (1) I am a bear of very little brain; (2) frequent travel; (3) limited time; (4) limited internet bandwidth; (5) difficulty prioritizing and concentrating; and, (6) occasional manifestation of foot-in-mouth disease. (That’s enough for now.)
That brief dialogue between you and MarkSean triggered the Mogharr in me, as I too, am an early victim of the television era.
I WAS going to post images of Arte Johnson and Klink with Schultz but lost the notebook.
That would make me Eeyore then…and in that case…being of even lesser brain, and only slightly better internet access…not much hope for me
As Eeyore would say: “thanks for noticin’ me”…and guilty as charged.
I’ll say good evening…if it IS a good evening…which I doubt
THANK YOU for giving us both a good laugh, Sharick!
Mrs. Sunnyboy here (the naughty one).
When I showed your skit to Mr. Sunnyboy, he laughed outright and said that was verrie clever! (He has Irish roots, and therefore loves a good laugh).
And please don’t even dream of taking my naughtiness personally – (i.e., pulling Sharick into the skit) – the idea came because of Dr. Farrell’s books – all of them like pieces of a mystery puzzle, and many of them themed you-know-where, and about you-know-whom. Hence, the thematic twist (inspired by the Giza books).
We both love your posts and contribution to this Forum, and your skit had us both laughing.
Arte Johnson and the “Rowan and Martin Laugh In” … now there’s a blast from blast. Every time Herr Schwab popped up in feeds …
You know Mr. Mogharr, I think we could trigger each other for weeks on end; that was a perfect response! “Thanks for noticin’ me” is a wonderful scene as it highlighted Eeyore’s meek and humble character so well. Of all the Disney animated films, that one IS my favorite. Yes, it was pieced from three shorter films and yes, it takes license from A.A. Milne’s marvelous books, but it did the latter so incredibly well. Each voice characterization was superb (e.g., Sebastion Cabot, Paul Winchell, etc.), as was interaction with the narrator and animation of even book pages.
Well Mrs. Sunnyboy, I am glad both you and your man enjoyed it. I DID misunderstand the intent of your skit addendum, mainly because I have not contributed much here lately beyond occasional barbs like that one. BTW, your accent was very strong: I had to reread it several times. It made me laugh out loud. Thank you for taking the time to explain and for the kind words of support.
Were commercials and TV shows of the 70’s great or what? So much fodder for slight modification and being dropped into a conversation, eh? Back in the day we would take Far Side comics and tweak the image or dialogue to suit our situation.
Well, I tried writing a ditty that ended in E-P-S-T-E-I-N (instead of B-O-L-O-G-N-A) and stopped because I couldn’t (quickly) come up with two, in context, five-letter words to match Oscar Meyer. Perhaps someone with more brain and more time can take over.
