Anyone who used Facebook in the last 16 years can now get settlement money. Here's how

So to be clear, this is only for people who were US residents and used Facebook?

is there a way to appeal this?

i am no US citizen and have not used FB, this is discrimination against my money!

Yes, US citizens only.

Maybe there is a way, I bet at least there are some lawyers who would take your money to try!

If I get a huge payout from this then maybe I’ll share some with you.

oh, how very nice of u!
but i’ll get along - believe me - without. i turned down at least three job offers in the last year, and in the middle of turning down another one, though haven’t really decided yet, since this one is kinda intriguing, but would take away some freedoms.

may u get a huge payout!
:sunglasses:

p.s.: just was in for the joke…

I tried to submit claim form but didn’t work, sent them a message maybe can get some payout. Had FB for about ten years 2009-2018, don’t miss that. Can be useful but really strange in a lot of ways that whole zuckerberg deal. (lol, spell check recommends replacing Zuckerberg with ā€œrubbernecker,ā€ Rubbernecker - Definition, Meaning & Synonyms | Vocabulary.com).

Looks like payout amounts will depend on how many people write in claims, could be $100 million or just ten cents.

LOL!
the guy really looks like a rubbernecker!

Yeah lol, just like aunt Petunia.

Got claim submitted, hopefully will get a little payout!

I suppose that’s another clever way of gathering and marketing data files….

And that’s why some call it ā€œTraceBookā€.

ā€˜Farcebook’ is good as well, i believe

You are talking about the claims being more data they can track?

At first I was not wanting to write in a claim because of that, but I’m not giving away any information that isn’t already public ledger so figured nothing left to lose anyway.

Money is so annoying finally have some work lined up for this next week difficult to live without the legal tender.

I’ve heard it calledā€fedbookā€ as well.

Not so much the data already collected but the action of responding to the lawsuit. Test case for future companies ā€œcoming cleanā€?

I don’t know about that, outside of what really even happens in court with this people putting down their names for payout claim doesn’t change the amount facebook is charged for their crimes just means the more people sign up, the less everyone is paid.

Really would probably best for facebook to be shut down entirely, if only we could get a court order for that.

Seems like a part of the social engineering process. We did something, than let’s see how they react.

Oh right the social engineers, got to keep track of how they react so we can analyze and control them too.
