IMO they rest easy with stuff in space, I suspect that they have stuff tucked-away which was derived from programs of long, quiet study into a physics that the ‘West’ dismissed out of hand. The Russians make kit to kill, it’s functional. Whereas the ‘West’ asks corporations to make kit, but those corporations seek to make ‘money’. It’s not the same thing at all. It’s not functional. See the F35 et al. Years ago the Russians disabled and dismissed the cutting-edge systems aboard the USS Donald Cook accompanied by passes from a solo antique S25 (?) at meters above sea-level. I daresay that they have a more than equivalent competence at higher altitudes ~
