A nice, readable text on the hemispheres. The newest edition will be pricey. Earlier editions are much cheaper and will be fine serving as a good introduction.

Although there are certainly problems with this theory there is VERY substantial research confirmation.

A nice piece on same from The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

Is it too much to suggest that modern progressivism is a byproduct of this left-hemisphere dominance? That the certainties of those who proclaim “trust the science” are in fact exposing the workings of the bureaucratic brain?

IMO there is, for lack of a better term, a 3rd brain - the cumulative processes of the two hemispheres as junction point with ‘mind’. Cosmic or otherwise. This layer, while dependent on the quality of connection, allows for a ‘knowing’ that extends beyond the ‘grasping’ brain AND the ‘integrative’ one. And it is here that we make contact with other dimensions, be they spirit or otherwise.

Just a thought …

… currently there is not much in the Neuro literature to support the idea that there is a hemispheric dominance for “behavior”, “personality”, or as in this case “ideological bent”.

It must take a wild imagination to conjure up these schemes and a logical, step-by-step mind to carry it out. Not sure what that means but think psychopathic brains might be more flexible than first ‘thought’.

Perhaps there is Neuro literature to support such topics, but not published for peer review?
