Or malfunctions upon take off…
… a sampling of some of the best ZH comments on article about tomorrow’s launch …
“How about we use this money to fund more oil refineries, improve our electric grid, lower taxes, or anything else that would help everyday Americans.”
“I was thinking we had this s _ _ t all figured out nearly 60 years ago using slide rules.”
“It’s a damn shame no one wrote down the how to directions from the 60’s.”
“Who have they chosen to direct this film?”
“$4-5 billion dollars for a mission whose primary goal is to create photo ops for DEI.”
“SpaceX is the new money-laundering scheme.”
“What, no drag queen piloting the mission?”
“The good news is we appear to be replicating the 1960’s! When does the Vietnam War start again?”
“With all the issues they need to worry about, I sure hope they remembered to clean the lint trap so the laundry room doesnt catch on fire.”
Interestingly I happened upon a video of Hoagland in archive.org from 1994 of a talk he did at Ohio State University about the structures on Mars and the Moon. He referenced a change in the original NASA charter in 1958 regarding the commitment to sharing all information with the public and other countries. A committee of prominent folks from various disciplines was convened by the Brookings Institution as how to handle the discovery of any ancient ruins should they be found. The consensus was that information was to not be shared and denied as it would result in the destruction of civilization so a change in transparency was added in 1961. I suppose the long held history narratives would be destroyed with calamitous results…perhaps the bumbling attempts at space exploration is a cover to avoid the situation of discovery and disclosure.
… Gee, there are 4 120v lithium batteries that are intended to provide crucial power for navigation, life support, and communication during the mission. They are placed.over the fuel storage areas in Artemis. The same lithium battery technology that you can not put in your checked luggage on an airplane because they can overheat, explode, and cause fires. Hmmmmm. Is that a good idea for a spacecraft?
Maybe they’re the new and improved kind? Notice lithium fires haven’t been in the news like forever, yet they are ubiquitous? The photo of the rocket in ZH had so many pieces and stages that need to function perfectly in an age of callbacks to complete the 10 day journey it seems a set up.
… Well, they did finally get it off the ground.
10 days is a long time for stuff to happen. Wonder how they convinced the four people to sit on that thing?
… Supposedly Artemis is going to fly 4-5000 miles beyond the Moon before they turn back. One wonders who and or what they might be meeting way out there.
Minnesota Somalian engineers, involved in lithium placement of Artemis batteries… ?
With strong family ties, in the insurance-payout-businesses?
I just started watching the live(?) feed. Very exciting. Hope the mission is safe and successful. I’m sure Richard Hoagland is riveted.
“When we set out to do the diffiCULT things”
Surely launching April Fool’s Day has some esoteric symbolism…maybe “We fooled ‘em once, we can do it again, especially with 50 years of improved computer CGI and AI algorithms to assist and control the narrative’s perception.”?
Testing defensive scanners?
That’s golden XD
Thank you
… interesting take on the “Moon Mission” …
