As a Nation we are DOOMED ... Bad (or as in this case a total lack of) reasoning kills

… of course I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. This only provides more evidence for the claim.

From an AP article titled:

Supreme Court allows federal agents to cut razor wire Texas installed on US-Mexico border
by Mark Sherman and Paul J. Weber

… "The 5-4 vote clears the way for Border Patrol agents to cut or clear out concertina wire that Texas has put along the banks of the Rio Grande to deter migrants from entering the U.S. illegally. Some migrants have been injured by the sharp wire and the Justice Department has argued the barrier impedes the U.S. government’s ability to patrol the border, including coming to the aid of migrants in need of help.

None of the justices provided any explanation for their vote."

… I would love to hear the JD argument about how the wire “impedes [their] ability to patrol”.

and NOT A SINGLE Justice gave an explanation for their vote.

Oh, BTW … still waiting for the argument that separates an aircraft’s airworthiness over land v. over water.

In the words of the great Maynard G. Krebs … “Come Now!”

Yup…hear hear… Roberts and the Supremes have sold out to the Lincolnian doctrine that the Union is a suicide pact… And I don’t know if you’ve heard about the new “hiring standards” at certain commercial airlines. It’s not good.

A parent doesn’t need to explain to the children, “Because I say so” is all that’s necessary.
Sad state of affairs, all that judicial experience and that’s the best the Supremes could do? Wonder why the credibility of our institutions is in the toilet? Sounds like a plan to me, demoralize the populace.

… but given the only fact noted “migrants” have been injured (illegally entering the country [criminal behavior]) the “reasoning” appears to be that since the wire causes injury it must be removed.
If so, then this wire must be removed from every business in the US so as not to injure those wishing to steal from or damage their property [also criminal behavior].

… and given this one wonders what the military is going to do with all of their wire.

… and since this wire can no longer be used due to its possibly injuring someone, even if they are in the process of committing a criminal act, it must also be illegal to sell the wire.

… this decision is going to make the building of “camps” terribly difficult as well.

Turning 180 degrees on a dime with no explenation would solve this little problem. When the need arises to put good old Americans in camps by willing foreigners with no ties to the land, barbed wire will be popular again. Besides malthusian scarcity at all costs, I see no aplied logic at all.

SCOTUS decided it was constitutional for an agency to have access to protect invaders. And that the States have no right to interfere on behalf of American citizens.

The decision needs no logic. It requires membership in the right club.

… so what you are saying is that there is no “method” for the setting of precedent.

… and in addition the SC has set a precedent (by action) that no reason and or explanation need be given for a decision. They have now shown that courts are in fact able to rule arbitrarily. So much for the “rule of law”.

… Please, will someone refresh our memory as to what occurred the last time a question involving “states’ rights” was entertained.

Way back in the late 80’s George H W Bush declared a “rules based new world order” and the rules were made up as needed to get where we are today.
The SC is lock step…the rule is “we said so”.

The question is, how much are the ‘rules’ subject to change and by what means? As far as I can find out, SC is not obliged to comment on a ruling. If someone has opposing info, please post it. I would truly like to know.

Some would say the U.S. is now a full-fledged banana republic . . . I don’t see much republic, but it sure is “bananas”!

Well, Texas said FYJB and is now reinstalling razor wire in Eagle Pass. Some days it feels good to call myself a Texan.
