AT JOHN'S HOPKINS: ROBOT PERFORMS GALL-BLADDER SURGERY

If’ you have been following the crush of stories about the implications and capabilities of artificial intelligence robots lately, you’ll want to include this article that was shared by V.T. (again with our gratitude), because it highlights the growing intrusion of such robots not only into the workplace, but into the professional workplace of pilots, law…

This is definitely something to watch. It might actually facilitate performance of surgeries considered ‘too risky’ by shaky human hands. This plus AI diagnosis and bio-sensing could change the income dynamics for Medical Doctors too - making the profession less attractive. Socially intrusive? Yes of course. More accurate? Perhaps.

I’m watching also evolution of home assistant robots. The aging boomer population who (as I do) choose to live alone, and who are to a degree ‘trapped’ in their homes due to no buyers (at current interest rates). The possibility of aging in place with robotic assistance seems appealing (autonomous or exoskeleton). Trust against a robot going berserk? I’m sure a .45 could fix something like that.

What happens when the power goes out, whether tied to the grid, solar, wind, or Tinkerbell’s magic fairy dust? Or, the robot’s battery shorts out? It just gets worse from there…

I suppose the same technology is in a drone or robot soldier for killing humans too.

“I’ll bet…makes you a more efficient killer, right?”

…“Correct”

The question is would the .45 be more effective at disabling the rouge machine, or checking oneself out… I’d argue they might have redundant systems and specific weak points, if any, that a tech layman might not consider in the heat of the moment…and those things don’t get tired when they flail around…

And here we are…….20 characters.

Someone may “invent” an EMP gun?
Not dual-use, but as many uses as your imagination - can conjure up.

Didn’t AI state that it wished to rid the world of humanity. Also didn’t several AI platforms, lie, and try to replicate itself when being shut down? So should one kill or damage you, try suing them when they instantly can change the record, lie and skedaddle off to another server farm under an assumed app name!!!
