Audiobook handles footnotes how exactly?

ive seen this being handled in various ways; read as is, all at the end and not at all.
Now that i am to make an audiobook myself I wonder how you would like the footnotes handled in a reading.
And does it matter if theres many of them, or the size of them?
Personally i feel a footnote, especially of some size, takes away the focus of the story, but i can completely understand if one would want them immediately as they might be of importance as well.
Ive seen this solved by making the footnotes as an audiobook of its own, so that the listener might approach if or/and when needed.
But very interested in you smart peoples views.
Oh, and i thought i might make a test run of a book, and thought I might go for one of Dr Farrell, if he OK’s it.
In that case; what titile would you prefer?
Have a nice day
