An intriguing building. for some reason I cannot articulate, it appeals to me. It’s like a pagoda that has been twisted a bit.

In China, friends greet each other by offering cigarettes. Western imperialism is making inroads however on the smoking culture here. Despite the foreign tyranny, the building is smoker friendly by offering outside balconies to the Chinese who love to smoke but no longer are allowed to inside the buildings and restaurants.
Ten years ago you could ask the hospital nurse to bring you an ashtray! Every Chinese home was guaranteed to have photos of Mao, Zhou Enlai and ashtrays in the living room!
Damn imperialists!
Give me your PO Box and I will be happy to send you a couple of cartons of the best Virginia seed cigarettes in the world! Step up to the flavor of Mao and Zhou Enlai smokes!

Hutong Hotpot Restaurant.
“Hutong” is the ancient street and living quarters.
This Hutong street probably goes back a thousand years, easy.
