He did, on occasion, say an interesting thing or two …
I remember him on the Joseph Campbell series: Power of Myth.
I was criticizing Moyer’s framing of questions; that Campbell would then have to reframe, to answer. Sometimes Moyer’s was damn good, but in the main? Mainstream. What are called today: Gatekeepers - like Noam the Foam.[IMO] aka Noam Chomsky.
I never thought I would live in the same county that framed LBJ’s life, but the longer I live in Texas, the more dreadful stories I get to hear about the man who held up his beagle by the ears for the press to see what a fine animal that wide-eyed dog was. To be the press secretary to probably the most evil excuse of a President that we ever had, well, I will give Moyers a few points for his ability to keep the rest of the country from knowing just how bad his boss really was. Moyers always seemed a humble commentator and, although clearly a paid contributor to something less than truth, his calm, seemingly thorough manner, will be forever missed.
What a creep he was! I didn’t realize until listening to Eric Hunley’s and Mark Groubert’s America’s Untold Stories.
