Blistering performance of this piece, particularly the fugue

Durufle’s Prelude et Fugue sur le nom d’Alain is one of my favorites, but there are few blistering performances of this piece, but Norberg’s just absolutely nails it, particularly the stunning and blistering end of the fugue:

Amazing. I play piano and can’t imagine having three keyboards to manage, plus 40 pedals. lol Someone here mentioned you play the organ? My friend Petter Amundsen also plays and was telling me about the Werckmeister tempering. Do you have any insight into that system? I’m curious about it, particularly the “Septenarius” tunings.

Yes I’m familiar with the Bach-Werckmeister tempering. Many believe it is the basis of the well-tempered clavier based on some coding that supposedly accompanied the first manuscript.

Par Excellence!
A lot going on!
Many layers, within layers; all playing seemingly - at once!

A Keeper!

I love it when performers really “get into” the music they are playing!! Take piano player Dave McKenna or Oscar Peterson…or…Cab Calloway & Fats Waller!!
