His background sounds sus.
Since I haven’t seen anyone else comment on this, there was early speculation that the shooter might have been motivated by Rep Hortman voting w the Republicans on terminating healthcare coverage for illegals, which I would imagine she might do if she represented a more conservative-leaning (non-urban) district. Political divide in MN.
But background takes it to a whole other level of speculation. On that note …

The domiciles listed on their incorporation papers in Minnesota are both listed on Zillow as recently listed and for sale? Like maybe they knew in advance they would be relocating…?

If the video of her emotionally wrought prior to the assassination is true, she was acknowledging the danger of her vote in deciding the narrow split in passing the legislation but went ahead with it anyway,
had the governor vetoed it, he would implicitly be caught in the crossfire…not good politics.

I’ll toss out a scenario. Something to cogitate. Dems are seeing defections of their reps to centrist positions, even full on flips to the R party. Skeezy security service guy with ties to D politicos in MN is thought to be ‘trustworthy’ and appears capable. So they hire him to make a point with other D politicians to stay in the D sphere of influence. This not a spur of the moment plan hence the property sale, cash, passports at the ready.

Per other press releases the police were reportedly at the Hoffman house at 2am Saturday responding to a gunshot call. Evidently the Hoffmans were able to alert the police the Hortman’s were targeted too. Police are said to have arrived at the Hortman home at 3:30 am, an hour and half later surprising the shooter as he was leaving. A shoot out resulted and he went back into the home and exited the back entrance, still on the loose as of Sunday, more than 36 hours later.
Saturday the same day of the shootings at 10 am, less than seven hours later, his wife is stopped in traffic for questioning with everything necessary to flee the country in her possession….kinda quick action in this age of information surveillance. Maybe AI and the
future data bases will close the gap 
I’d say he’s already in his protective cell getting a new ID and look.

Between Boulter and luigi mangione being able to “escape”, I wonder if they are trying to inspire the mentally unwell to do assasinations with the hope that they will be able to escape
