The other side…is chock full of hot air, like we can imagine comes out of the rear end of a Hippopotamus, and absolutely devoid of humor.

Pretty much what happened to SNL over time…humor was corrupted too.

As you wrote, “humor was corrupted too…”, and I would add it has been done with a ‘dark and malicious’ method’ behind it. A method that has now moved beyond normality, because in the early iterations of SNL the actors and script writers made a decent effort to poke fun at those folks who make the rules, and pass laws that ordinary, decent human beings must follow. What appears to be going on these days is an effort to ‘twist’’ the humor in a different direction.
Lots of examples a good clean humor are available on some of those older, original shows. Just seems to me things have changed in terms of what, and whom the SNL script writers poke at these days.
