Easter Dawn: A Prayer for America’s Resurrection

Eternal God, Ruler of all realms and Lord above all lords, we bow low in Your presence. Our nation teeters on the edge, fractured by strife, drained by graft, encircled by hidden forces plotting in darkness.

Pardon our arrogance, our avarice, our drift from Your eternal ways. As Easter breaks, stir the dormant strength in our souls with the victorious life of Jesus, risen from the grave. Kindle spirits with boldness to safeguard freedom, fairness, and innocent life. Unmask the bipartisan crooks, break their bonds of bondage and lies, and install godly stewards who revere You over fleeting votes.

Mend our frontiers, renew our fields, shield our youth from brainwashing and danger. Bestow insight upon the faithful core, growers, laborers, defenders, to forge sturdy fellowships radiating Your glory, fueled by the triumph over death.

Reverse the surge of oppression. Unleash a wave of renewal coast to coast, echoing ancient awakenings. Unite us as Your singular people, unbreakable, brimming with freedom for every soul. In the triumphant name of Jesus, our living King, we declare and decree. Amen.

May the Risen Lord renew and uplift America.

Try this as the doxology: “Through thy Risen and Only-Begotten Son, triumphant victor over death, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee and Thy Most Holy, and Life-Giving Spirit, ever One God, always, now, and ever, and unto all ages of ages, Amen.”

And we petitition God. We do not declare and decree. Popes ala Boniface VIII do that: “We declare, define, and pronounce, that it is altogether necessary to salvation for every human to be subject to the Roman pontiff” It may seem a small thing, but language is usually a give-away of the inner spirit… this is also why I am UNALTERABLY opposed to “You Who” prayers… Try praying the “Yoohoo” version of the Our Father, and then the traditional one: which one do you prefer, and why?
