Hmmm, when, not if the UK joins the European Union again, leadership materrial then. von der Leyen should be carefull, under her leadership a colourful replacement for Kaja Kallas maybe! He promptly should be sent to China to educate them.LOL.
Sorry, but humor is all I have got left to deflect some sadness of the deep grief I am feeling about the situation of the west. I just pray we survive and reinvent ourselves.
Thanks for the memories, Joseph. Memories of helping my late husband with all that “fig” to get his doctorate. His proper Southern Mom was horrified by how he and his friends ran around dressed like that later, all over Cambridge (mostly to pubs) while we tagged along. She calmed down when she saw other PHD students dressed in such silly ways. But the gentleman who was over-the-top was the guy who presented the PHD’s at the ceremony. I looked at his “robes” (really a Tudor gown, with matching hat and furs) and said to my Mother-in-law, “Now there’s a man who has seen ‘A Man for All Seasons’ way too many times…” She laughed! My very composed, very Southern US mother-in-law laughed - it was so true.
