The article is indeed indicative of the scamdemonic “sales campaign” of a needle in every arm, promises backed up by financial gain, deceit, job promotion criteria and force, when in the end after the damage was done, crickets. Using a noun like data centers sounds benign and useful as a salable investment product, whereas calling them “surveillance centers”, for that is what they are meant to do, would destroy the sales campaign for everyone.

Getting closer to accepting AI as the scam it is:
“If I didn’t know better, I would think this whole thing was being run by the same people that gave us the Covid planscamdemic and the whole quackcination op: “here, take this highly experimental drug that relies on a newly developed technology that we don’t fully understand that we’re forcing you to take, or we’ll fire you. Never mind what it might cost you (or us) in the long haul, we need to find out what happens when we inject you with it,” or “here, this AI can answer the phones and respond to customer service problems so much better than a real human being, let’s lay off half our work force, install a program that uses gobs of electricity, and that doesn’t actually work, so that we have to rehire the people we just fired and/or retrain a whole slate of new people.” Yea… sounds like good business sense to me.”
^^ that about says it. The tech savy who looked into AI in the beginning could see the writing on the wall… and why they embrace the “Lo Techs” resistance - aka “Neo-Luddies” (as in advocates for responsible use of technology). Neo-Luddite isn’t a term to avoid, but embrace and any AI advocate throwing it around in a derisive way just expose themselves. Why fear the name-callers showing off their emotional immaturity of bulling playground behavior? Love em, sure, but why encourage bad behavior by responding to emotional terrorists?
