I worked for a Vet who specialized in cats only and a number of cats have jumped from those heights (one 9 stories) and landed just as well; so I don’t know what you’re seeing that’s unusual. Typical open spread as cats maintain during a fall. Tail in correct position for balance…

Not every cat determines what floor they’re on but takes the safest posture they know.
BIG difference in landing on grass as opposed to concrete.

OMG! the cat bounced like a rubber ball. Aren’t they wonderful! I hope someone found him. It must have been so frightened!
