Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Loses! (One Wicked Witch Gone!)

"During the 19th and 20th centuries there was a mass emigration of Swedes to the USA. About 1.3 million people, an enormous number, are estimated to have left Sweden due to starvation, poverty and oppression.

By 1890 the U.S. census reported a Swedish-American population of nearly 800,000. Most immigrants became pioneers, clearing and cultivating the prairie in the Midwest, but some forces pushed the new immigrants towards the cities, particularly Chicago. At one point there were more Swedish people in Chicago than in any Swedish city except Stockholm. Chicago was Sweden’s second largest city in terms of population!"

This thing about Swedishness and the “Swedish model” what is it? After all, we have been brought up to believe that there are only advantages and that we are so good so good, yes so good that it is probably not possible to do anything more kind than to follow the Swedish way of looking at things. This is of course not true, it is actually quite the opposite! Now try to be a little unswedish…

Around 1900, Chicago was Sweden’s second largest city with around 100,000 Swedes, where the Lundin family emigrated from Ödeshög. Fredrik “Fred” Lundin, born May 18, 1868, died August 20, 1947. With the help of juniper drink and a good sense for business, he founded an empire where he acquired political power in the city in various ingenious ways.

Between the years 1909–1911, Fred sat in the United States Congress, which did not reduce his political influence. Because when we get to 1915, he got his pal William Hale Thompson elected mayor which increased the power of Fred considerably. The city’s coffers were Fred’s, so to speak, although few knew it was that way. He never signed a letter and never spoke on the phone and held the most important meetings at home in his mother’s kitchen after dark. He obviously understood that even then you could be eavesdropped.

Wait now, aren’t there several Swedes who have had that effect but don’t see the idea? now you have to be a good Swede not to understand that it is connected as usual.

His rule ended in 1922 when none other than notorious mob boss AL-Capone took over the network Fred had built. Brace yourselves, this is not an exception but actually a rule in Swedishness.

@Soupcommie Thanks very much! Love your articles; loads of great info!

Thank Mr Carl Norberg, he is the one who has been on the forefront of putting together the pieces of hidden history of the Nordic medling of the world issues.

But its up to people like me to interpret his texts and spread it outside of the Swedish speaking population.

At first i was frustrated that he only was releasing material in Swedish.
But i now understand that its because he cannot carry this burden.
He focuses on spreading high level knowledge to the few here who are able to listen.
Then its up to others to participate and spread it further.

His blog is a excellent wiki of sorts, try searching for various historic people/events etc and let Google translate work against its creators
