Chocky's Children

I have not yet purchased the Demon in the Ekur, but it is on my list to read this fall… But hearing it discussed, reminded me of an old British TV show for kids called Chocky’s Children…

Chocky is an alien energy not from this world… Throughout the series he/she/it contacts children on Earth to have them make some sort of free energy device. When the British intelligence services find out about it they managed to trap Chocky in a small pyramid and lock it away in a secret government base.

Here I timestamped one part of an episode where Chocky is trapped in the Pyramid…

I also enjoyed two other Sci-fi British programs called Children of the Dog Star and The Tomorrow People. (I went through a 70’s scifi reruns phase when I was younger ) Which also have some uncanny things in them too!

Yeah, they showed us “Chocky” in school, which was a little odd…Somebody thought it’d complement the “Curriculum” :thinking:

That’s interesting… It was an odd show… I don’t think I could re-watch the whole series today because let’s face the actors weren’t that great and the plots were kind of stale… But it does make me wonder where the writers came up with their scientific explanations… Only on TV could a group of kids break into an area 51 style base and outsmart the Intelligence services in broad daylight.
