May I offer a possible [and frankly, rather obvious to me] answer to the question raised in the show by DJ - why did “abduction stories have such a firm start/end date” in the ufo lore scene. 1961 to 2001.
Because that was when it was in heavy rotation as a plausible deniability MK Ultra trauma and programming theater. After that time newer, fresher technology had advanced to the point the old theater was too clunky and slow.
Exactly like how Michelle Remembers was used to both inflate and discredit Satanic abuse programming. The Barney and Betty Hill case was used in the same manner.
Grey Area Monarch tells of some early childhood training with the nice old couple next door. In their basement, learning cadaver arts, with strong punishment/reward/sex abuse stuff. How at the “end” of that portion of training the wife didn’t obey and the husband “killed her” in front of Grey as an object lesson. Grey was much older when he came to realize it was a stage play with a fake killing for this benefit. That story has really stuck with me.
add in purposeful trauma, and drugs, and now technology - getting someone to think a thing happened to them is, well, child’s play in today’s world.
