It’s sad but I’m not surprised. Could be a plethora of reasons why, including govt not wanting others ‘accidentally’ making contact.

As for the new development plans, yeah, I bet the do have plans for it.

Perhaps it was too ‘anagram’ in today’s ‘digital’ society.

Consider Arecibo might be a perfect location for that initial ‘alien invasion’.
Not on any continent. An island with a population that can be controlled. Ability to keep curious investigative reporters away; all flights in and out grounded, etc. Just sayin’.
