When I hear of your going analogue in snail mail; I too wanted to adopt that, not only symbolic method, but imdeed, a nuch more personalized and much more human way of communicating. Yet I only have gone a small portion of that way; mailing Holiday cards with short notes. I keep telling myself; to break my bad digital habits, must must develop new analogue habits. I made progress, but the digital tethr is very strong. Fortunately, I never subscribed to the cell/smart phones; perhaps , as strong as a molecular quantum bond. I wouldn’t know, as I fortunately escape that mobile computer. However I do have this desktop, and ny Chinese keyboard. The Good, Bad, and Ugly of it.
I hope to make writing letters, a smiling fact; framed within my rearview mirror.
My computer went down, about six months before your. I too had simular problems. Although not a member of Twiiter, Facebook, or others of their ilk; Amazon and other institional busineses did give me the ubiquitous digital: Press 1 for, Press 2 for, AND hop on the maddening digital merry-go-rounds, of endless engineered MAD HATTER-Alice-In-Wonderland, loop to loop dances - with multi-polar, dei digital devils.
I read Roberts daily, but only in depth on a few article, like the example here.
He’s old school, and has his eye on the human virtues side of the coin[analogue heads(spritual beings), digital tales(false narratives).

I actually recieved a free Kindle from Amazon.
After only a couple of ebook reads - it was OVER-and-OUT!
(My wife, also hated it - and hid it from me).
It’s a continual struggle to break-free of the few digital chains I have - for they have a strong-force componet to them. I’m trying to “limit” my hours on this desktop.
Need to develop better time management skills…

When the first “two step verification” appeared, ( add a phone number, add a secondary e-mail or add a relatives e-mail, in case you die 
) my first thought was, they are mapping access ports of all devices, accounts and relationships between users and thus collecting personal data the only product of the information age

Organic real communication all the way, and lets not even get started on the ability of AI to impersonate a public figure, I think Dark Journalist had that one thrown at his channel by YouTube. It’s quite easy to be duped in this all digital landscape.
