In a gloomy conclusion and I haven’t read the article yet, fat burns slow and hot. This is how Nazi’s helped spare the fuel bill for the ovens in the camps; one fat one and numerous skinny ones on top.

… Just read the overly lengthy article and I don’t think it’s viable, but hey, that’s just me.

There is surely much else going on than only the body fat burning, if you feel like that, try to take your time and go through the whole thing…

I did go through the whole thing. I’m not speaking for the article, only the way it was done in the camps. After reading the article, I do not think what they’re alluding is viable on a larger, useful scale; cold as that sounds.

@ebmason The skinny ones would be kindling to ignite the fat ones, much like building a wood fire. I’m not saying this to be funny or to be a smartazz.

No, it doesn’t work that way. Skin & bone do not act like wood kindling. The fat burns hot and gives lots of flame, which is why they put smaller corpses atop them.

Well, there was also some pyramid research in former soviet union. Maybe it was motivated by the same reason as in this case ? And in pyramids, you do not burn the bodies…
