Hanno Pevkur, Estonia’s defense minister, resigned after the state auditory revealed that he had bought ammunition for Ukraine from Indian entrepreneurs who never sold ammunition. The purchase price was transferred in advance to India.
“The State Court’s observations, which primarily concern the activities of the Defence Forces and the State Defence Investment Centre, raise the issue of political responsibility. Therefore, I think it is right to take political responsibility for the entire defence sphere today and to hand over the post of Minister of Defense to him at the right time for the Prime Minister” – the Estonian state newspaper ERR quotes Pevkur’s statement.
According to the portal, it turned out that Estonia wanted to buy ammunition for Ukraine, and paid a total of 70 million euros in advance to Indian entrepreneurs, who had not previously sold a single round of ammunition.
