Facing Death (full documentary) | FRONTLINE

This program originally aired in 2010 and I found the compassion shown by doctors, nurses and others quite amazing. In my advancing age and with immune disorder(s), I have to wonder if, after this horrendous Covid lie, are these medical personnel still truly desiring to help in ways that cooperate with the patient and not according to ‘orders’?

Through it all, I’ve had a couple of wonderful physicians and nurses. I’ve also had a couple that instilled sheer terror in me and had me looking for a quick escape from their presence, or a way to beat the living sh1t out of them, since I was sure they would destroy me anyway. (Takin’ that muthaf’er with me…)

Has it come down to something akin to a coin toss? We’ll all find out eventually but I think this is an important film. I’m convinced there are true healers with compassion in the industry and I pray they come my way when it’s my turn.

I am hoping I am courageous and compassionate with myself when the time comes to “leave the party”.
I’ve given time to think and plan for the end of my journey.
My wish is quick and painless like my birth.

I have no fear and, with the way the world is going, am actually looking forward to it.
Nearer my God to Thee.

As for doctors: there is definitely a policy to get rid of the elderly and disabled in the UK.

Someone else from UK had trouble with a video but found it played later.

As one doctor said, ‘You think you have all planned ahead of time but it’s still a surprise to most.’

The Great Adventure. Only thing I’ll miss are seas and oceans.

Did anyone watch the documentary? Doesn’t seem like it but I understand.
@undine Lots of things I’ll miss.

Yes I watched video. How the medical providers took the time to handle the inevitable death of cancer patients with family and patients in a compassionate manner. Plus added bonus is doctors’ own thoughts about the end of life measures now available that can increase a life span, but not add to the quality of it. Some of the procedures and methods are quite painful without any guarantee of results. The question for them and the patient, is it worth it? The will to live and survive to avoid death as long as possible for all parties is self evident.

I generally don’t like to post long videos for the sake of time and if someone is interested they can google it. Thanks for watching!
