Podcast Description:
This episode features Professor Thomas Seyfried and Dr. Alan Goldhamer discussing an alternative perspective on cancer. They explain the metabolic theory of cancer, the role of mitochondria, fasting, ketogenic nutrition, and why they believe current approaches to cancer treatment need to be re-evaluated. The conversation also explores lifestyle, ultra-processed foods, public health policy, and the future of cancer research through an in-depth discussion with Fidias.
In this podcast, the two gentlemen, each of whom has studied effects of fasting on cancer, chose to focus on their points of agreement, and both remained rather vague about their points of divergence (i.e., exactly what each considers to be a “health-promoting diet” – perhaps because frank discussions about diet are political hot potatoes). Outside of this, I found interesting Dr. Seyfried’s remarks about the effects of radiation on glucose and glucamine chemistry in the brain.
