I saw this news on another channel, typical bullying by a huge corporation wanting to control what we have access to.

And by the way even if you download your library it still will have DRM which will need stripping.

All digital media is now the ultimate property of who holds the keys for the encryption which in most cases won’t be the content creator.

Ultimately this kind of behaviour drives well meaning customers to the seven seas for a bit of the old shiver me timbers.

There are ways of converting the downloaded e-book into a pdf. This doesn’t constitute copyright breach. Instructions available on the internet, a bit complicated, possibly.

Yeah definitely, and I understand some DRM can help content creator revenue streams but it should be a universal reflection of ownership, not forcing you to remain in the Amazon or (insert giant media company of your own) ecosystem.
